Dr. Gerry Koocher Roundtable Discussion 11/4/2009 2:30 PM

From Dr. Campbell:

Gerry Koocher

Dr. Gerry Koocher

Dr. Gerry Koocher will be visiting our program and meeting with students on Wednesday, November 4th from 2:00-4:30. Dr. Koocher is the preeminent expert on ethics and professional development in psychology. He is the author of the most frequently adopted textbook in ethics, “Ethics in Psychology and the Mental Health Professions.” His book is used in our doctoral ethics class. Dr. Koocher is also immediate past president of the American Psychological Association and has published hundreds of articles and book chapters in ethics, pediatric child psychology, and children with chronic illness.

All of our counseling psychology students are encouraged to attend this round table, meet, and talk with Dr. Koocher. This is a very rare opportunity to meet and talk with a leader in our profession. A count of students who can attend will be taken about a week before his visit and at that time, several articles written by Dr. Koocher recently will be circulated so that students may be familiar with his recent work. The location of the meeting will be announced later.
